It is our distinct pleasure to host the Kagay-anon International 17th Tapok. As President of the Cagayan de Oro City-Misamis Oriental Association of New York, Inc., leading and organizing this outstanding group of men and women is an honor and a privilege, and I am so excited to show to the whole Kagay-anons and Misamisnons all over the world what is in store for this year’s event.
Over the past 32 years, the Tapok has accomplished many amazing things and helped develop the camaraderie and reconnection of hundreds of men, women, and teenagers and were able to retrace our roots either family, friends, classmates, officemates, neighbors and long lost friends. By doing this event we have a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our children and youth in a very special way.
I’d like to give you an idea of what you can expect and what we hope to achieve over the days of your stay in New York. Day 1, Friday, July 26, will be our arrival and registration then the presentation of delegates. Day 2, tour in Manhattan, visiting Lady Liberty, biking or hiking around the great Central Park, or watching various Broadway Shows or just merely walking along the infamous Times Square. We all knew that New York City has so many other recreational facilities to offer. To golf enthusiast, a golf tournament will be offered this day also. We have also other sports tournament such as Bowling and Lawn Tennis. Then the culmination of the day will be the Grand Gala Night, wherein beautiful gowns from our ladies will be the showcase of the night. Then the 3rd and final day of the event will be open by a church service in the park then followed by typical Filipino breakfast, then a group souvenir photo will be taken at the park, then we will say goodbye to each other until the next tapok
Before I close, I’d like to thank the Steering Committee of the Tapok for the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal and the experience to help the preparation and planning of this event. You are truly our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership. I ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of our Association. My personal respect and thanks goes out to all of you.
Once again, distinguished members of the Kagay-anon International, Kagay-anons, Misamisnons and friends, for and in behalf of the Officers and Members of the Cagayan de Oro City-Misamis Oriental Association of New York, Inc., with great pleasure we welcome you all to the KI 17th Tapok.

About UsHost for Kagay-anon 17th Tapok 2019
It was the idea of the late Roy Gaane of gathering all Kagay-anons living abroad. He started contacting friends all over the United States and he created a list of all new arrivals and ultimately connected thru his KI Newsletter. With his enthusiast, (remember multimedia is not born yet at that time) and homesickness of the new arrives and longing to get a glimpse of news from our own hometown, the first Tapok was held in Chicago in 1982. After 36 years the Tapok is still going strong with tremendous success in its own way....Learn More
